December. 2025 Kenya (Jong-do Lee & Kyung-sook Kim)

We have entered the season of the First Advent, celebrating Jesus who came to this earth 2,000 years ago as our Messiah. We welcome this Christmas season with joy, grateful to be the "beautiful feet" spreading the Gospel and sharing God’s love with the world. Looking back on 2025, we are deeply thankful for His abundant grace. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude for your prayers and love that have supported our African ministry. Here is the latest update from Kenya.

Bridge World Theological Seminary Ministry

This year was a season of reorganizing our structures and restarting our training ministries. The seminary serves as the spiritual center and the heart of our various Bridge World International ministries. In an era of rapid change, where digitalization and online platforms are becoming the norm, it is a new challenge to train ministers and leaders who meet the specific needs of Africa. Our seminary strives to constantly renew its purpose and mission as an African-based institution, seeking new paths to fulfill the calling given to us.

Formation of the Bridge World Alliance of Afro-Independent Ministries (BAAIM)

BAAIM is an alliance of independent African denominations established as a result of our long-standing seminary ministry. While many traditional African churches are losing their vitality, we are grateful that independent denominations are actively engaging in evangelism. We hope BAAIM will become a structured and effective alliance that carries out the mission of African revival and global mission. We ask for your prayers that this alliance becomes a powerful channel for the Kingdom of God.

Ukunda Bright Angels Academy and the Founding of a Secondary School

It has been 17 years since we started Ukunda Bright Angels Academy in a shack-like environment back in 2008. By God’s guidance, we were able to build the current facility, which has grown into a faith-based educational institution serving many students. Above all, we are thankful for the steadfast dedication of Pastor Mushimi and his wife. After completing the building in 2016, the facility had become quite worn, but we are currently renovating and repainting it in preparation for the new semester.

Furthermore, we are overjoyed to announce the establishment of a Middle and High School, thanks to the dedicated support of Chairman Kim Seok-mun’s family. Adolescence is a crucial period for grounding children in their faith, and we always felt a heavy burden for graduates who had to leave after primary school. The opportunity to establish a secondary school through God’s special intervention is a great joy. Please pray for the smooth progress of this project.

Ethiopia Mega Church News

Mega Church in southern Ethiopia is a vital local church established for the evangelization of the region. Through the dedication of Pastor Galma, over 20 churches have been planted, with Mega Church at the center. It was by God’s providence that we could build the sanctuary with the support of KAFHI. Although progress is slow, we were able to raise the roof this year. Even in its unfinished state, the congregation is now able to gather for worship, for which we are truly grateful. Please pray for the finishing touches, including windows, flooring, and painting.

Ministry of Pastor Salad in Isiolo, NE Kenya

The Peniel Fellowship Church in Isiolo held its dedication service on December 7. The senior pastor and members from the Chicago Fellowship Church visited to provide medical ministry and celebrate the dedication. This fruit is especially meaningful as it is the result of Pastor Kim Hyung-kyun’s three years of sacrifice in Africa and Pastor Salad’s passionate prayers. We thank God for the sight of the believers dancing and praising with joy in their new sanctuary.

Pamoja Scholarship and Other News

  • Pamoja Scholarship Ministry: Started by the devotion of a senior deaconess’s family, this ministry now provides scholarships to 44 children of African ministers. The heartfelt thank-you letters from the children add great joy to our ministry.

  • Ministry Tools Support: A deaconess from Massachusetts donated two motorcycles for Pastor Lokong in South Sudan and Pastor Rodiong in Uganda. In Africa, where road conditions are poor, motorcycles are invaluable tools for delivering the Gospel.

Prayer Requests

  1. That the Bridge World Alliance (BAAIM) becomes a powerful instrument of God's Kingdom for the evangelization of Africa.

  2. That Bridge World Theological Seminary may train more workers for unreached people groups and that scholarship funds may be provided for them.

  3. For the successful completion of the Ethiopia Mega Church construction in 2026.

  4. For the smooth construction and establishment of the Middle and High School in 2026.
