'Bread and Gospel': KAFHI Expands Donor Chapters Across U.S., Second Chapter Launched in Chicago
Korean American Food for the Hungry International (KAFHI) is accelerating its mission to expand the cause of 'Bread and Gospel' across the United States. Following the establishment of the Southeast Chapter in Atlanta last year, the organization successfully held its inaugural rally for theMidwestern Supporters Committee of Korean American Food for the Hungry International, which includes the Chicago area, on Sunday, June 8th.

The inaugural rally, emceed by KAFHI Secretary-General Jung Seung-ho, began with a prayer by Pastor Kim Jong-gwan (Dasom Church) and a sermon by Pastor Kim Kyung-soo (The Church of Promise). The appointment ceremony for the Donor Council followed it.
In a special moment, President Yoo Won-sik personally presented the letter of appointment to Lee Joon-seok, officially launching the Midwestern Supporters Committee of Friends of Hope.
Donor Chapter Head Lee Joon-seok mentioned his 10-year relationship with KAFHI, stating that seeing Secretary-General Jung Seung-ho's dedication inspired him to 'be a part of it.' He announced his commitment to establish donor chapters across six Midwestern states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Iowa. He called for the active participation of local pastors and business professionals.

KAFHI 2.0 Vision and Mission Expansion
The ceremony concluded with a congratulatory message from Pastor Shim Chang-sup (Fellowship Church, KAFHI Director) and a benediction by Pastor Kim Young-moon (Sae Nal Church). The subsequent dinner included a personal testimony by President Yoo Won-sik, who also introduced KAFHI's ministry.
President Yoo, who previously served as the President of Food for the Hungry Korea, is currently the President of KAFHI USA. He emphasized that KAFHI is a Korean-centric organization jointly created by the Korean and U.S. Food for the Hungry headquarters. President Yoo declared the start of the 'KAFHI 2.0' era, aimed at further expanding the U.S. ministry based on the core missions of 'Bread and Gospel' and 'Relief and Mission.'
Goal of Six Regional Chapters Across the U.S.
The Midwestern Supporters Committee of Friends of Hope is the second regional chapter to be organized, following the Southeast Chapter in Atlanta last year.
Secretary-General Jung Seung-ho announced plans to complete the formation of a total of six regional chapters across the U.S. by 2026, including New York (Northeast), Dallas (South Central), LA (Southwest), and Seattle (Northwest). The goal for the KAFHI 2.0 initiative is to secure 1,000 donors for each chapter.
Currently, KAFHI USA's donor base includes approximately 1,700 supporters nationwide, with 200 contributors in the Chicago area.
